As of April 21 “we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.”
It means that preferential ranking treatment is now given to websites that are “optimized” for mobile. It also means that having a mobile-friendly website is no longer a nice option to give your customer—it’s absolutely essential.
Is your website mobile-friendly? If not, don’t be surprised if its ranking plummets on Google search results.
“Mobile-geddon” is here, and websites that aren’t mobile-friendly will suffer from the latest Google apocalypse. The search giant is officially updating its algorithms to favor websites that look and perform better on mobile devices, making them appear higher on search results.
There are a couple of ways you can test your current website, and the easiest way is to simply go to your site via the smartphone you have in your pocket or with the tablet laying on the table.
For additional testing methods, try the Google Site Tester or, using your mouse, Grab the corner of your web browser and Re-Size the browser window to be long and narrow.
You’ll be able to see in Real Time how the website design will change if it is Responsive.
At sliStudios, we are keenly aware that mobile is the number one source of visitors to your website and Every Website We Build Is Mobile Friendly.
